Namibia National Olympic Committee (NNOC) president Abner Xoagub, Joined the Namibia Chess Federation 2023 Sport Expo stall, where he challenged the NCF President and the current Under 8 Girl Champion to some Chess games. Mr. Xoagub also conducted some interviews on behalf of the Namibia Chess Federation.

Namibia Chess Federation - NCF

Chess Governing Body

The Namibian Chess Federation (NCF) is the overall governing body of the chess sport code in Namibia. It was established in 1991. It is responsible for :

  1. The selection of National Teams both Junior and Senior
  2. Organizing and Regulating Chess Sport Events throughout Namibia
  3. Promoting Fair Play and Administering FIDE Rules and Regulations.
  4. Training and Capacity building for its members.

To promote Chess Sport as a profession and pave the way for future Namibians to not only play professional chess but make a living from chess. To formally introduce chess in schools from grade 1 to grade 12(AS Level). As well as to promote and encourage women in chess as equals amongst men.
